ความตกลง TPP กำ หนดให้มีการคุ้มครอง การออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่ โดยให้รวมถึงการออกแบบ เฉพาะส่วนใดส่วนหนึ่งของผลิตภัณฑ์ (partial design) ด้วย ในขณะที่ความตกลงทริปส์กำ หนดให้ประเทศสมาชิกให้ ความคุ้มครองการออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่โดยที่มิได้ระบุถึง การให้ความคุ้มครองเฉพาะส่วนใดส่วนหนึ่งของผลิตภัณฑ์
The TPP Agreement provides for the protection of not only new industrial designs but also designs constitute a part of an article (partial designs) while the scope of industrial designs protection under the TRIPS Agreement does not extend to partial designs
